Rain!

Due to the fact that it has been an intensely dry summer, and yes we need the rain, but Wow!  87 mm fell from the sky since yesterday.  Every stream i encountered today was swollen and rushing to the sea.  Humbled i felt, as i sat on the edge of Dillon Creek, which has now become a small river…I give thanks for the free flowing waters of this land, who chart their own course.  As i bear witness to the change of the seasons, this time of fall ~ leaves twirling and tumbling to the earth, i rest in the knowledge that we can now put our feet up for a while, read some awesome books, take apart all we have learned, and plan for next year.  Finish up stringing the hot peppers, can that last batch of salsa, sift out the seeds and make sure they dry.  Store everything away like little pack rats.  IMG_3049[KGVID width=”640″ height=”360″]http://linnaeafarm.org/linnaeafarm/wp-content/uploads/IMG_3044.mov[/KGVID]

First you harvest the crown, then come all the shoots! It's the gift that keeps on giving!

New Map!

With all the changes happening around the farm, we decided it was time to come up with map letting people know where to go and how to get to where they want to!  So here it is!  We repurposed the old mail kiosk, and created a map kiosk!  Soon to come is a new bulletin board and a welcome sign!  Thanks to Filipe, Richard and John for getting this all together for us!
